Eye makeup tutorial

So, a lot of people have been asking me how I do my eye makeup lately so I decided to write a little tutorial for how i do it.

First step:

always, always use eyeshadow primer! I use Urban Decay's Eyeshadow primer in Sheer Nude, you can buy it from Sephora for $19 but it's so worth it because I've had mine for almost 5 months and I just ran out!

Anyway, this stuff is amazing! If you have a problem with your eyeshadow creasing this is the cure, I work 8 hour days and my shadow still has not creased when I get home! Definitely a win! Let the Primer dry for a minute before you put on your shadows, I find that works a little better for me.

This is what it looks like:

Step 2:

After you have waited for a minute for the primer to dry, apply your highlight, I use Brule from MAC and it is a creamy white color that works great for the upper lid and the inner eye area. This is what Brule looks like:

3rd Step:

I use MAC cork Eyeshadow for the crease color, I love love this color as a contouring color in the Crease. {Oh by the way for all of the eyeshadows I use MAC brush #217 it's great for blending, and i love it!} It looks a lot lighter in real life...but this is kind of what it looks like...

Step 4...

For the lid I normally use Handwritten by MAC but some days I also use Folie (which is a dark purpely/brownish color) Handwritten is a dark dark chocolately brown. When i apply it to my eye with my #217 Mac brush i just Tap it on, be sure that you always tap off the excess or else it will end up on your cheek all over your foundation. Handwritten looks like this:

Last but not least....

I use Mac Carbon which is a matte black, I have been using this for like 2 years I love it that much! This is the final color so make sure all the other colors are well blended. I put carbon on the outside corner of my eye in a triangle shape. You can always put more for a more smokey look, but for everyday wear i just add a little bit.

I hope this helps,

What is your favorite eyeshadow look?

*bucks

Starbucks, you have once again put a smile on my face. :)

I was standing in line to get my usual {Grande coconut Iced coffee, with room for milk} and the cute guy asked me while I was stuck behind a giant line "Miss, Grande Iced coffee, tonight?" Just like they do on the movies. Made my night :) And reminded me of that scence from The Proposal. {if you've ever seen that...}

Hope you had something make your day today, whether it be a nice man at a coffee shop or a new pair of shoes!

Good day.

Today was a good day, today was the first day for the next six weeks that I will be getting facials every Wednesday. :) My good friend/coworker came up to me a few weeks ago and asked me if I would be her senior project for her becoming a master of esthetics. of course I said yes! :) Who would pass up an offer like that? so...for the next six weeks I will be getting pampered every wednesday. So excited! :)

After my facial, my sister called me and told me she and my niece and nephew would be spending the night up at my house, love it! We did things like shopping, laughing, singing, dancing, eating eggplant Parmesan (mom made it with 2 of the 10 eggplants i picked yesterday, 8 to go)nail painting, movie watching-if you haven't seen the movie RIO it's really good, and i normally hate animated movies...we also spent a bit of the night stuffing our faces with pie at Marie Calendars! It was SO good! :) we ended the night with a mask for our faces. Here's some pictures from our day:

{my beautiful sister eating her cheesecake with strawberries}

My freaking amazing apple pie with vanilla ice cream

My adorable nephew: Emmett at the mall

Hope you all had an amazing day!

A day at the farm

So today was my Saturday, and I woke up craving fresh fruits and veggies so I called the local Farm(Day Farm in Layton) and they happily told me that they have pick your own tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and tomatillos :) So of course I went to pick my own this afternoon and I scored big time! :) This is all the stuff that I got: all for under $20

What did I make with all of that you ask?
I made a Tomato Cucumber and feta Salad! It was so delish! :)

Hope you are all having a good day!

Beauty Lovin'

These are some items that I have been "Loving" on for the past month or so! Most of these products you can buy at Sephora or Mac, or Ulta. Sephora is always my favorite though! :)

{FACE}

1. Okay I don't have this one just yet....but I have a goal that I am trying to accomplish, and once I accomplish that (hopefully in the next 30 days) I am going to buy this for myself :) It's pretty pricey though...$55 at Sephora. I got a sample of this though and I absolutely LOVE it! It smells like all of the wonderful citrusy fruits combined! (if that makes any sense...) Anyway, enough ranting about this, when I get it I will let you know how it works!

2. On that same note....I have been using the trial version of these other 3 Products from REN...I know, I know, It shows 4 in the picture. I have just been using the Clay cleaner, the night serum, and the day serum

.

The clay cleanser I really like, I have acne prone, oily, and pretty sensitive skin and this cleanser doesn't dry out my skin too much or make it oily it just makes it normal.

The night serum: is more of a lotion than a serum, it's not too heavy in the morning I wake up feeling a little oily, but that may be the fact that I just have naturally oily skin.

The Day Serum, is really stinky...so if you don't like things that don't smell good, I would not recommend this for you. I can't really tell if it has been helping my skin, because right now it's that time of the month...(tmi, i know)

3. Make up forever Mat Velvet- I have actually been using this product for the past couple of months, and so far I really love it! I love that it has a matte finish. Since I have Oily skin the Matte really helps me :) Oh you can get this at Sephora for $36

4. Okay, okay...I know you are going to think this is crazy. But, I heard on a vlog that I was watching that this girl takes her makeup off with Extra Virgin Olive Oil...I thought it was crazy at first too. (especially because I already have oily skin). I decided to try it one night though! And guess what?! It works like a charm! :) Some people even leave it on their skin overnight as a moisturizing mask. Look it up on YouTube, i promise! Anyway, I have been doing this for the past couple of nights, and I think I will keep doing it :)

{NAILS}

1. Turquoise Nails, with Gold crackle :) = Bliss

*HAIR*

1.Miracle leave in conditioner by Biosilk: I found this in my dads cabinent :) So, I don't know how much it costs but I love it! I use it right after I get out of the shower on my wet hair, and it almost feels like a de-tangeling spray. Anyway, I like it a lot!

Anyway...That's all I have for tonight! What beauty products have you been liking lately? Let me know!

Splurges of the Month {August)

Mac Pressed blot powder $23 {Macy's}: I got this as a replacement for my Careblend, which i liked as well! I just wanted to try something new. I put this on with a big fluffy brush, and I use it more as a setting powder than a blot powder, but I really like it as a blot powder as well! So far I am very satisfied with this product, I would definitely purchase it again!

Style&Co Watch: ($29.99) From Macy's so cute and trendy, I have gotten so many complements on this watch it's amazing! I love it! Michael Kors has a similar one that is around $100 (Waaay too much for my taste ;)) So I think I got a pretty good deal :)

Smashbox PhotoFinish Foundation Primer (with color correction): $34 {Sephora}
So I bought this primer a few days ago, I used to have the primer from Stila but I noticed that it went away too quickly so I decided to purchase this one because I heard a lot of good things about it. So far I have mixed feelings about it...I have oily, acne prone, sensitive skin. This primer makes my skin feel kind of funny when I put it on...I don't really know how to explain it but it's more of a satiny finish then a matte, if that makes any sense...another primer I tried last month was the Makeup Forever HD primer, and I liked that one but I just wanted to try something different, I'll let you know what primer I end up with in the end.

Rock Revival Straight Elma Jeans: (Buckle) $138+Tax I absolutely love these jeans! I got them last week and they are so comfortable and so cute on! Kind of a splurge, but it's okay. They're worth it ;)

Blistex Silk&Shine $1.89 @ Walmart: I love, love this stuff! I literally use it like every 10 minutes at work! haha! If you haven't ever tried it you should give it a try, it's probably my favorite chap stick I've ever tried!

I know that it seems like a buy a lot of things and spend a lot of money on random/pointless items, but I promise you I only buy these items like once every six months, this month just happened to be a spendy one...anyway, I would love to hear what your favorite things of the month were :)

Extreme Makeover {Room edition}

So my little sister C was off at camp this past week and while she was away, we decided to do a makeover on her room. I really loved that Yellow and Gray room that I posted in my last post so we decided to do something similar! Here are some of the pictures from the process:

{Window Valance, that I made:)}
{Accessories, Elephant: Thrifted $1.50, Little owls: Thrifted $7.00 for set, Lamp: Walmart}

After is soon to come :)

What kind of projects are you working on lately?

$50 dollars, Sticky hands and 12 hours {Later}

I decided to be crafty today, since I had nothing else to do. Wednesday is my day off and both of my parents were at work and my sister C is at camp so...I did some long hard thinking and decided I wanted to do a project! While I was looking for ideas, I stumbled across this amazingly crafty blog called http://www.sewdangcutecrafts.com and she had this idea for a guest bedroom that I will have as my bedroom some day, I absolutely {ADORE} it! What do you think?!

Guest-Bedroom

So the project that I decided to take upon, is that cute little wall hanging you see above the bed frame (which by the way is made out of shutters)

So, after visiting seven whole stores to purchase all of the thirteen different kinds of gray & yellow fabric, printing out coupons for 3 of those stores, giving away my happy meal toy to a little Hispanic girl at Walmart, seeing some hick kids who had holes in their pants and holes in their undies, and finally finding the fabric that I wanted, here's what I came up with:

Obviously, I haven't glued all the pieces together or hung it on the wall, but it's a start! I hope you like it! Here's to more crafty days to come!
